energy efficiency and promoting green business
At Scotlight we are committed to being a greener company, there are two main parts to our green policy:
energy consumption and packaging. Traditionally lighting showrooms waste a lot of energy keeping all their
lights on all day and having fittings constantly on that use inefficient lamps. In our showroom we only run
a small percentage of the lights on display and turn lights on and off for customers on request. In addition
to this we use energy saving light bulbs where possible throughout our showroom, offices and dispatch area.
These simple steps mean we consume far less energy, change light bulbs less often and recycle any energy saving
light bulbs which eventually fail.
Because we ship a lot of items through our internet site, we use a lot of packaging per month. To reduce waste
and operate more efficiently we recycle all the packaging and boxes that items from our suppliers arrive in.
In addition to this we have also approached other businesses to recycle packaging that would otherwise be thrown out.
